PRODUCTION MASTERS
_DIGITAL
By default, every project includes delivery of:
_RQMSTR-4424: Hi-Res 24-bit 44.1kHz .wav files for high-resolution distribution outlets like Distrokid, Apple Hi-Res Lossless, Tidal, and Amazon Music. These are versatile files that may be employed across a wide range of digital distribution platforms that accept high resolution files.
-
_RQMSTR-ADM: Hi-Res 24-bit 44.1kHz - 96kHz .wav files formatted and leveled for Apple Digital Masters
-
_RQMSTR-4416: standard resolution 16-bit 44.1kHz .wav files for standard streaming services and distribution outlets that do not accept high resolution files
-
_RQMSTR-9632FP: 96kHz .wav files at a 32-bit float suitable for digital archival or creative purposes
-
_RQMSTR-DDP: a .DDP image containing your project with the proper sequencing and metadata for CD-R manufacturing.
-
RQMSTR-DSF: Ridiculously high resolution DSF files for playback at DSD 11.2 MHz (DSD256), DSD 5.6 MHz (DSD128), or DSD 2.8 MHz (DSD64).
These files are typically for two purposes: archival and audiophile-grade distribution. It is common for classical and jazz recordings to be mixed down to DSF / DSDIFF prior to mastering. When we receive these files, we integrate the high resolution files directly into the mastering process, ensuring that there is no unnecessary conversion from DSD to PCM prior to distribution. That way, when you receive final production masters, the PCM files are derived from the DSF master, which sports the highest possible resolution.
DSD and DSF files are not accepted for mass market digital distribution by most distributors and thus, DSD releases must be distributed by the artist, label, or publisher directly to storefronts that sell or stream DSD files.
_VINYL
Includes delivery of 32-bit 96kHz Hi-Res .wav files for sides A and B as well as a .PDF cue sheet for vinyl manufacturing. This file should remain zipped until it is received by the vinyl manufacturer.
Final track sequencing, side break, and titles should be provided to us prior to project completion.
_ALT
Many commercial placements require alternate mix versions for various media applications (instrumental, a capella, radio edit, clean version, etc). Alternate mixes should be provided by the project’s mix engineer.
Includes delivery of 24-bit 44.1kHz .wav files for various digital media applications.
